CA Bridge Connect’s Statewide Launch Announced by the California Governor’s Office

The California Governor’s office has showcased the launch of CA Bridge Connect — our free, confidential, statewide helpline connecting Californians to same-day substance use treatment support.

“CA Bridge Connect makes it easier for Californians to find the right help, at the right time,” said California Governor Gavin Newsom in the recent press release, “so more people can begin treatment and take their next step toward recovery.”

California takes a “no wrong door” approach to care, building systems that direct people to the resources they need when they need them. Building off of the Bridge Center’s CA Bridge program, the country’s largest emergency department-based opioid addiction treatment model, CA Bridge Connect serves as one of those essential doors to entry.

When someone calls or texts the helpline, either seeking support for themselves or someone else, a Navigator will answer the line, work to understand their needs, and provide linkage to supportive resources, including medications for addiction treatment (MAT), overdose prevention, and more.

Everyone needs help navigating complex systems. Mobilizing its vast network, CA Bridge Connect removes barriers with one simple number to call or text.

“CA Bridge Connect partners with addiction treatment providers across the state who have truly embraced compassionate, evidence-based addiction care,” said Bridge co-founder Arianna Campbell, DMSc, MPH, PA-C, in the Governor’s press release. “Accessing treatment can be difficult in fragmented health systems. Through strong clinical partnerships and dedicated Behavioral Health Navigators, we are committed to making it easier for anyone to access care quickly. No one should face addiction alone.”
